3G Auctions likely to be delayed again to next Year

by DJ on Jul.31, 2009, under 3G

As always, it seems that the 3G Spectrum Auctions which were likely to be held in September this year are delayed to the next year. It is being said that the Government may not get the expected Revenue from auctioning the 3G Spectrum as of now amidst the Global Recession.

This means that we would have to wait longer Mobile Broadband, Video Calls and other 3G services. This is really a shame. The Auctions should not have been delayed so much in the first place. The Government looks to garnar Rs. 35,000 crores from the auction of 3G Spectrum in the next year.

Initially only 6 private players apart from the state owned BSNL and MTNL would be allowed to roll out and offer 3G Services.
