Indian Government fixed reserve price for 3G Auctions

After various meetings and stuff, the Government of India has finally fixed the reserve price for the 3G Spectrum Auction at Rs. 4,040 crores. This would help the Government of India earn at least Rs. 32,320 crores. An agreement has reached between the Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and Telecom Minister Mr. A. Raja.

India Bans Mobile Phone Handsets sans IMEI Code

The Government of India yesterday banned the import of Mobile Phone Handsets which do not have the 15 digit IMEI Number or Code. An IMEI code uniquely identifies and mobile phone and helps security agencies track them. This move was due to security concern. This move will mostly hit the Chinese and Taiwanese Manufacturers.
