MTNL Mumbai has recently launched 3G HSDPA Data Services in Mumbai. The maximum download speeds are upto 3.6 Mbps and upload speeds are upto 384 Kbps.

It will be downward compatible with 2.75G and 2.5G data services. As of now 3G/HSDPA network is available in the following Mumbai areas:

• Cuffe Parade
• Fountain
• Cooperage City
• Mazgaon
• Mandvi
• Worli
• Dadar areas
• Prabhadevi to Mulund on Eastern Express Highway
• Prabhadevi to Airport on Western Express Highway

The network is being upgraded every day by addition of new towers and will cover Mumbai in the phased manner. The upgradation of network will be conveyed regularly to subscribers by SMS.

• SIM Cost: Rs. 300
• 3G/HSDPA Activation: Rs. 149
• Free Data Usage: 60 MB to be consumed within 30 days
• Validity: 1 month – Rs. 149 recharge to be done every month
• Minimum Data Balance: 20 MB balance to be kept in account at all times
