TRAI – Minimum Broadband speeds – 2 Mbps

Well, this is like a dream come. Well, not exactly – it is just one step forward in the right direction. TRAI has recommended that an Internet Connection to be labelled as Broadband should have a minimum speed of 2 Mbps. The current definition of broadband in India is an internet connection with atleast 256 Kbps speed.

DTH Services Portability considered by TRAI

It is reported that TRAI is planning to introduce Portability of DTH Set Top Boxes. If this really happens the competition between the various DTH players will intensify. Customers will be free to move between DTH Operators without buying new set top boxes and use their existing ones.
